MSNBC anchor: Is Trump 'trying to provoke a domestic terrorist attack'?
By Joe Concha - 06/04/17 02:05 PM EDT

"Let's not be PC about this," Roberts said before first asking Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed (D), "Is the president trying to provoke a domestic terrorist attack with this Twitter rant because — only to prove himself right?"

Reed didn't address the question directly but stated, "not being politically correct doesn't mean being misinformed or leaking intelligence that harms one of our most important allies.” He later added, "The way to handle a matter of this kind is not through the form of tweet, it's form of leader to leader direct conversations often handled in a confidential manner.”

Roberts, who primarily anchors on weekends, tried again with former Vermont governor and Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, who also avoided answering directly.

“I asked this of Mayor Reed, but it seems like the president is trying to provoke something that he can politicize more for his own gain in America. Do you feel that way?” Roberts asked.

"Well, I think he's totally incompetent," said Dean before pivoting to criticism Trump's decision to pull out of the Paris climate accord.

"I'm tired of this crap," Dean later said. "Let him do what he wants. He's not the president of what the American dream stands for. He's not the president of the greatest nation on the face of the Earth.

I hold tRump responsible for every attack since his election , it seems there have been more attacks worldwide in the short time he's been in office than in all the 8 years of Obama.
TRumps crazy hate filled rhetoric has inspired just more and violent terror. The more tRump rants about the 'evil Muslims' the more the .000001% of the Muslim population that is radicalized will lash out. If trump would treat the Muslim communities with respect I bet the number of attacks would go down sharply.
The 2 bush wars caused chaos throughout the Muslim world, millions of innocent Muslim women and children have been killed and that blood is on the hands of the Americans and British.
Obama made progress in trying to right the wrongs committed by previous presidents, just look at the historic Iran deal, he should have won his second Nobel Prize for that piece of diplomatic brilliance. Trump is squandering every bit of hard earned goodwill earned under Obama.
We need to place the blame for this violence directly upon the source, tRump and his minions and not blame an entire class of refugees displaced by bush wars and climate change caused largely by the US.
One last thing, is it really a coincidence that these attacks happen right when trump insults the entire civilized world by dropping out of the Paris Climate Accords?

His "administration" is an incompetent joke. They have no governing skills or policy ideas.

I'm sure the impact of 9/11 on Bush's ratings are not lost on them.

The militias are gearing up because they know tRump will soon be removed from office, it may even happen as soon as next week after Comey testifies. I imagine a republican governors will sit idly by and let these right wing terrorists run amok?
We may be in for a long hot summer of impeachment and civil strife.

you are describing have the FBI worried more than islamist extremist grroups. There are many more of them, they are armed to extremes, and there are multiple ideologies that can set off one group, but the others might join them in solidarity.

I hope DUers and Liberals will be careful not to make themselves easy targets for those who are ready to commit murder and acts of terrorism.

Want to see who WONT actually be dangerous? Look for the types that blather on about "Gaaawd!" and "They're comin' fer mah guns!"

Their entire battle plan consists of running into the woods and camping. They're completely clueless how easily they would get killed by modern technology. Malheur could have been over in 5 minutes if the government wanted (not that they should have).

Know why ISIS is so successful? Because they do the opposite of these backwards cretins. First and foremost, there's the fact of designating yourself as a militia member in public.

I do doubt that they could be effective. They don't have the will, tactical knowledge, or common sense to do more than a minor dent. Malheur was an example of their poor planning. It quickly went from a terrorist action to suicide by cop within a short time span.

My point is, the few that actually do move from whining on a computer to real world action have no idea what they're doing. They're terrible terrorists. They always get caught or kill themselves without an ounce of success.

I say this in a good way. I wish all terrorists sucked this much.

McVey knew exactly what he was doing. I think most capable persons wouldn't take this path, but there can always be someone with just enough planning ability to seek additional help, "specialists," in carrying out their evil deeds. McVey wasn't stupid; his IQ was estimated at 126 according to Wikipedia.

No military coup is possible if the military doesn't play along.

I believe the Generals can see for themselves what a crazy misfit Cheeto 45 is.
Most of our military leaders come from middle class families just like us. Some of them are even Democrats.

They'd never let him push the nuke button or start World War 3. They'd shoot him first.

How a Trump could happen in a functioning democracy.

I guess Jimmy Carter was right.

"Former President Jimmy Carter believes the United States’ campaign finance system is so broken that the country is no longer a functional democracy. Appearing on the Thom Hartmann show this week, Carter said that “unlimited political bribery” is “the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.” He said the same problems are present in elections for “U.S. senators and congress members.”

This perspective needs more coverage because it is exactly his intention: not only to provoke a domestic attack but also to solicit a full-blown war (yes, that means draft).
