IMO, The new FAA non-profit will end up recommending a bullet train system.

The national interstate system could be used to reduce the need to obtain new property.

Example: NY to Chicago to Seattle to San Diego to Charlotte to DC to NY.

Although the southern leg may need to be moved inland to maybe Memphis due to raising water levels.

Just my 2 cents.

that is why they want to modernize.

No need for trains.

at the same time. We found that out on 9/11 when they had to land all air traffic at the same time.

Adding new computers, software, and cheaper labor is not going to make more air space.

A good bullet train could be competitive with air travel.

basically every plane knows exactly where it is due to GPS and is communicating digitally with all nearby planes so it knows exactly where everyone else is. The software on each plane ensures they maintain a safe distance.

There will not be a need for a lot of air traffic controllers.

That GPS system can be knock out by an enemy or by natural sun emf flare very easily.

regardless of how many people don't want to fly for what ever reason. The economics don't make sense.

But there are other solutions other than spending billions on a bullet train that can't compete with the airlines.

But you appear to want to continue to facilitate a transporation system that favors nondisabled people. It takes a tremendous amount of work and risk for a wheelchair user to travel by air. With disabled people across generations, disabled war veterans, and aging baby boomers who many of us hope will be able to travel, exploring possibilities and options is ultimately a civil rights and that facilitates the tourism that is economically productive.
