From the RW steaming pile - Comey's May 3rd testimony

I happened upon Hannity's radio show (tape delay) last night.
"Comey...May 3rd...said he was never pressured to end an investigation"
Hannity repeated this 4 or 5 times so I thought to myself "what fresh pile of bullshit is this?"

Here is the actual exchange between Comey and Sen. Hirono (D-HI)

HIRONO: So if the Attorney General or senior officials at the Department of Justice opposes a specific investigation, can they halt that FBI investigation?

COMEY: In theory yes.

HIRONO: Has it happened?

COMEY: Not in my experience. Because it would be a big deal to tell the FBI to stop doing something that — without an appropriate purpose. I mean where oftentimes they give us opinions that we don’t see a case there and so you ought to stop investing resources in it. But I’m talking about a situation where we were told to stop something for a political reason, that would be a very big deal. It’s not happened in my experience.

----
She asked about the Attorney General and the DOJ not the White House/Trump.

So who brings this up on Thursday, Hatch? Cornyn? Grassley? All of them?

Where teams of people have had an extended amount of time to prepare. That can often manifest itself in a circus like show. I think the Republicans goal will be to muddy the water in any way possible. I would even look for them to bring up Clinton multiple times.

I'm not sure Republican senators can spare brain cells for too many distractions right now and I think this may be a pivot point in their support. The real question is, how invested are their staff? Those young Republicans will be doing the legwork. I hear stories of dispirit.

That said, every thing Comey has ever said about Obama, and every story of Obama commenting on the FBI will be brought up. That is their comfort zone, bash Obama and create false equivalence.

The liars are organized, that's for sure, and their guilt is very obvious in their actions. Obstruction is happening on a lot of fronts.

WILMINGTON, N.C.
Washington will be riveted this week by the drama surrounding former FBI Director James Comey’s expected congressional testimony.

But Republicans elsewhere in the country say they couldn’t care less.

Interviews with GOP activists across the country, including around a dozen attendees at this weekend’s North Carolina Republican convention, reveal deep mistrust of Comey, who was investigating possible connections between Russia and the Trump campaign before the president fired him.

“There’s nothing about Jim Comey that I trust,” said state Sen. Ron Rabin. “There’s nothing consistent about what he says.”

Apparently this guy is a Trump Twitter pundit. Ranked by MIT as the most significant individual #26 in the election after the candidates and news operations. Never heard of him
