Did Jeffrey Lord Really Just Blame 9/11 on Rudy Giuliani to Defend Trump Tweets? Yes, It Appears So

CNN host Anderson Cooper led his panel in a discussion over President Trump‘s critical tweets towards London Mayor Sadiq Kahn. Shocker, they were less than impressed.

Enter Jeffrey Lord, who was so eager to defend the sitting president — of whom he is a BIG fan — that he claimed that Trump’s critique of the London Mayor after the terror attack in London was totally understandable, given a presumed “we’re not taking this seriously enough” context. Fair enough?

Re-enter Cooper, who challenged Lord on what he clearly saw as the absurdity of said claim by throwing out a variety of hyperbolic scenario, which eventually led to…you guessed it: the blaming of 9/11 on then NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Paraphrased, Cooper asked ‘If the Pakistani Prime Minister blamed Mayor Giuliani for 9/11 you’d be okay with that?’

“Yes,” Lord exclaimed, “the buck stops here” suggesting that if the attack happens “under your watch” then you take the blame. One can probably safely assume that, if pressed, Lord would rethink that answer.But the stunning exchange showed Lord’s chauvinistic defense of Trump regardless of reasonable critics, and his willingness to go to ANY level — reason be damned — to make his point.
