Never has the substantial progress in equal rights and treatment of LGBT people been more at risk than in this presidential contest. This election presents a choice between starkly opposing futures.
Barack Obama is a leader of undeniable accomplishment, vision, and integrity on LGBT rights. His opponent Mitt Romney betrays equality on numerous issues and aligns himself with a faction of the Republican Party that does not include equality among its declared ideals.

(15,438 posts)but once in office, they flip to socially conservative issues, trying to overturn Roe v Wade, seeking to overturn DADT and strengthening Dumb-DOMA, demonizing the LGBT community every chance they get, attacking women's rights, trying to pass laws to dictate what religion is appropriate for all Americans, what language, what ethnicity, and what school (charter vs public - just to get public funds to pay for private schools) all the while their only goal is to funnel public funds (taxpayer dollars) into private enterprise while denying all Americans of a reasonable life.
The short of it . . . on all levels, we can't afford to have Republicans in power anymore.
