Top Senate intel Dem: Russian election hacks ‘much broader’ than revealed in bombshell NSA leak

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/06/top-senate-intel-dem-russian-election-hacks-much-broader-than-revealed-in-bombshell-nsa-leak/

Now Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) has told USA Today that American intelligence services have found evidence of Russian attacks against U.S. elections systems that are much broader than those revealed in the NSA’s report this week.

“I don’t believe they got into changing actual voting outcomes,” Warner told the publication. “But the extent of the attacks is much broader than has been reported so far.”

Warner also cautioned that he couldn’t rule out a successful Russian hack of American voting systems in the future, as “none of these actions from the Russians stopped on Election Day.”

The attempted hacks revealed in the NSA report showed that Russia had gone much farther in trying to compromise America’s voting system than had been previously disclosed. Warner tells USA Today that he would like to release information about the states that were targeted by Russian hackers so they could move to shore up their systems ahead of the 2018 and 2020 elections.

Every time, without fail, we get something from this administration and the initial response is, "Oooh, that doesn't sound good." Just wait, because as more details spill out, it always turns out to be even worse.

This is the worst nightmare for our government and they are not ready to "go there" yet. There is no provision in the constitution to nullify an entire national election up and down the ballot...especially not six months into a spectacularly destructive presidency, let alone prosecute scads of politicians and perhaps the GOP as an entity.
Total cluster. Just what Putin wanted.

Is my thinking as well. A small group of legislators and IC knows (I'm thinking they may even have brought Obama in), and are trying to figure out how to roll it out without causing the utter breakdown of our country.

Sorry.. I know sounds alarmist, but I believe it is plausible. I feel a sense of danger. Am lying low this summer. Also the extreme heat and crowds. Crazy time.

I also agree about them attempting to engineer a roll out that does not crash everything.

Stay close to home...hug your kids or grandkids, reassure them, and be well.

We live in interesting times.

Can't help but be concerned & alarmist isn't far off base considering all we've come to know.

For me the alarmist bells went off back in the GE when dt was easily likened to A Hitler. How he woo'd the crowds & how many were shipped to the camps & killed before anyone, even those who lived nearby, ever knew of the horror happening a few miles away.

We count so dearly on Mueller and his team because if they cannot bring down the mob, the alternative is incomprehensible.

Peace

the look on Feinstein's face after one of the early classified briefings. I think after that initial shock, all the stuff that has come out since has probably bolstered their need for a cadre to develop multiple contingencies.

The pattern will be the home run that wins the game, Trump trying to get everyone to obstruct justice will begin the impeachment.

data, personal data, access to the system, to transfer data out of the system, etc, etc, I would be very rich.

No one really knows what the hackers obtained -- until we see some real analysis, we may never know. It may be too late to do the forsenics. This is the strangest thing - all this stuff going on and no action. I cannot figure it out. Sometimes I think the IC community is laying a huge trap for Trump, Ryan, Pence, Mitch etc. and other times I think they are literally idiots.

I don't see any reasons to suppress this information. WE NEED TO KNOW!
