Attorney General Jeff Sessions suggested he could resign amid rising tension with President Trump

Source: ABC

As the White House braces for former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony Thursday, sources tell ABC News the relationship between President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions has become so tense that Sessions at one point recently even suggested he could resign.

The friction between the two men stems from the attorney general's abrupt decision in March to recuse himself from anything related to the Russia investigation -- a decision the president only learned about minutes before Sessions announced it publicly. Multiple sources say the recusal is one of the top disappointments of his presidency so far and one the president has remained fixated on.

Trump’s anger over the recusal has not diminished with time. Two sources close to the president say he has lashed out repeatedly at the attorney general in private meetings, blaming the recusal for the expansion of the Russia investigation, now overseen by Special Counsel and former FBI Director Robert Mueller.

But sources say the frustration runs both ways, prompting the resignation offer from Sessions.

I used to sneak in their room and play their records, became a DJ when I was 12. That song really creeped me out, but I would play it and flip the 45 over and play the song on the other side.

I bet my family in November after the election, that the impeachment process would start in July. I hope I am right! I also hope the Trump administration breaks the record of the Reagan administration in number of officials convicted or pled guilty! It would be the most magnificent, amazing, wonderful, and Biglyiest ratings bonanza of all time!

Everyone knows what happened when Nixon finally found a sucker (Bork) to fire Archibald Cox. They may be too stupid to consider history, given he already fired Comey and is taking a big hit for it, so that might not happen - at least right away....

Sarah Kendzior has this right: she argues that palace intrigue narratives are part and parcel of authoritarian states. Notice that for all the "Trump is mad at X" stories, nothing has really changed - none of the supposed feuds ever lead to anything. It's all reality teevee bullshit.

Who never got scoops before. Noticed one to NY Post and then I think it was CBS- both sounded like WH spin on things. The NY Post printer something they shopped to WaPo who said they declined to publish it because they didn't want to be described as close to Kushner. But the NY Post published it without describing the source that way.

Shenanigans abound.

Chris Christie got screwed out of a cabinet post. Prominent people have turned down positions when offered: Admiral Harward, Monica Crowley, and others.

And during the campaign they lost 2 campaign managers.

But most of the people who got fired or left on their own were Obama appointees.
