Would it be to great a mental challenge to you boys to attempt
some OTHER way to express your political objections about
republican women without the gratutitous, offensive sex references

(8,994 posts)Besides, I said I wouldn't. Not that I would. Don't jump bad at me about misogyny, I ain't the one.
But if I said otherwise, I would be applying it to both, equally. I'd like to see you spin that as misogyny.
whathehell
(29,067 posts)seems interested in Ann -- the "easy" target for verbal sexual abuse, if clearly,
the LESSER evil than Mitt.
I don't like Ann either, but these extended references to 'fucking" her the "horse first without washing",
are ugly, misogynistic, not to mention OFF POINT, as they target her sexuality which is OBVIOUSLY
not the problem anymore than it is with Mitt.
You see it a lot here...It's a lazy man's way of attacking a they dislike for any reason.
If you look at the Right, you'll see their attacks on progressive women like Michelle, and Pelosi
are EXACTLY the same....We're supposed to be a little "better", not to mention "brighter" than
they are and any claim to being a Progressive demands it.

(12,496 posts)is the"upper" class of the entitled rich. It's going to always exist, and unless we find a way to counter it, we're going o continue to be victims of people who think they're better than the majority of us simply because they're rich and we're not.
Ann Romney has already had her moment in the sun, when the Rs attacked the pundit who said that A Ronmey had "never worked a day in her life." I'm not saying housewives never do any work--they do, but don't forget that the family was also rich enough that I'm sure Ann never was put out by the whole family "situation" and was likely never subjected to real work at home. I think even Mrs Prozac, Laura Bush, did more work than Ann Romney ever did.
There's a quote from F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story, "The Rich Boy." I'm sure it's familiar to everyone, but here it is:
Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me. They possess and enjoy early, and it does something to them, makes them soft where we are hard, and cynical where we are trustful, in a way that, unless you were born rich, it is very difficult to understand. They think, deep in their hearts, that they are better than we are because we had to discover the compensations and refuges of life for ourselves. Even when they enter deep into our world or sink below us, they still think that they are better than we are. They are different.
THIS is the upper class. It's not hard to see any of the Romneys in that vat of hedonism--not too many of us are in the territory of the 1% like the Romneys. And yes, they're different--and NOT in a good way.
Rich doesn't mean smart. Rich doesn't mean philanthropic. Rich doesn't mean fair. Yes, there are some rich people who can claim those traits, but I have yet to see a rich person on the right who can. They're different, partly because they care less about the common people, because they're greedy, they're hostile to any suggestion that wealth be spread out.
Yesterday, I had a graphic from FB that I was sharing, but it deflated, and got no replies. It was about how the rich are already taking over, and we should be wise to how the 1% wants our world to be. We need to understand that this won't be the first time the rich have tried to take our country away from us. http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002911885
I must say that we need a war--a new one. We need a war against the very rich. We must make it clear that this country is not a plutocracy, it is not a theocracy, it is a free land for all, it is a place where everyone has a chance to do something with their lives, other than be the slaves of the rich. Until we can all remember that--liberals, moderates, conservatives--that the rich are really NO BETTER than the rest of us, we're going to continue to be really a two class system: us versus THEM.

Some bullshit lie like that. Yeah, the president wants to "kill Mitt Romney." Where do they come up with this stuff?
This woman is absolutely disgusting.
If Michelle Obama said half the shit she did, Obama would not be president today!!!

(3,784 posts)The lovely Romney family, who as we all know is just SUPER to their pets, doped up their horse with enough painkillers to...........well, to choke a horse..............to the point that it was unable to "perform dressage" (whatever that means). Oh yeah, and dupe the unsuspecting buyer of the horse into buying it. What lovely people. That story warms my heart ALMOST as much as the one about tying their dog to the roof of a moving car, and NEARLY as much as the story about Mitt tripping family members at the Romney family picnic just so he could win a race.
The more I learn about Mitt Rmoney, the more I'm beginning to think that his propensity for putting people out of work is one of his more endearing qualities, comparatively speaking. Just a horror of a human being.
