(19,107 posts)You would think that at this point Trump would say to his people, "OK, now anyone you vet from now on, just make sure they absolutely have zero ties to Russia or Russians in any way." You know, most law firms in this country have never done any work for Russian companies. There are literally hundreds of thousands of law firms to pick from and he seems to only have the numbers of ones with deep ties to Russia.

(15,806 posts)The staffer who answered the phone was surprised by the Rosneft connection. I said that I would be pleased if the senator could raise some questions about it. He laughed when I asked if life was "interesting" in DC these days, then he thanked me again for the information and said he'd make sure it got to the senator.
Strange times we're in, eh?

(5,271 posts)"In private practice at the Atlanta office of King & Spalding LLC, Wray specializes in white collar and internal investigations. In 2015, the firm consulted with Russian energy giant Rosneft. There is one curious thing in Wray's CV on the King & Spalding website. A 2016 version of the site shows that among those he had recently represented was "An energy company president in a criminal investigation by Russian authorities." The 2017 version of the website omits this line. "
