Right. It took another six months for the House to begin an Impeachment inquiry, and another nine months for Nixon's resignation.

Still, there's so much unpredictable stuff that's happened, we might be on a Trump resignation watch ahead of the Watergate schedule of events if things get really deep and republicans revolt. There's no telling how antsy they'll get in advance of the midterms, and Trump has the consistency of bologna.

(40,416 posts)The Senate Watergate Hearings were formed in Feb 1973 and only began mid-May. The crucial revelations happened in Summer, 1973. There was no move towards impeachment until the Saturday Night Massacre on October 20, 1973. The following week was the first time that the House began impeachment proceedings. It would be ten months after that event that Nixon resigned. The House Judiciary Committee did not approve the articles of impeachment until July, 1974. That would be nine months after the House started the process.
Your timeline is entirely incorrect.
Here's some help:
Watergate 1973 Chronology
Note that John Dean's testimony before the Senate Watergate Committee begins on 25 Jun 1973, 14 months before Nixon resigns and 13 months before articles of impeachment were voted on in the House Judiciary Committee. Plus, there's the fact that Nixon resigned before his inevitable impeachment. There was no impeachment.
