(18,837 posts)He DID say he believed Trump might LIE. He DID use THAT word.
He said he did the notes for three reasons, and repeated several times that reason #3 was "the individual involved" (Trump).

(51,129 posts)Damn right Comey didn't trust Trump given all the classified information at his disposal.
If anything was revealed in all this it is how well insulated the boss is by his buffers. Trump manages to stay one step away from the criminal acts by giving the orders. The modus operandi of a crime boss is more than a familiar pattern to a veteran prosecutor and FBI guy like Comey. But now they have Trump too, for obstruction of justice.

(869 posts)He called him a liar in the context why he took written notes, and he called him a liar as to why he fired him. He said Trump had lied about him at the FBI.

(19,069 posts)I will tell you this about compulsive liars, more than any other liar, they blow a fuse when they get called out for being a liar. It infuriates them to a level you cannot imagine.
I've known a couple compulsive liar, but one I will tell a story about, my friend Rick. Greatest guy in the world, just a good person (unlike Trump). But Rick has some issues and he lied about everything, he couldn't help himself. He lied about who he dated, what he did for a living, he'd even lie to other people about things you two were both present for. One night I called him out completely as a liar, just flat out confronted him on why he lies all the time and that he doesn't have to lie to impress people because he's a great guy. This sent him into orbit, he's also a huge person and I thought he was about to kill me. We were at a restaurant several miles from our homes late at night and instead of hitting me he walks up to a stop sign and literally tears it out of the ground and throws it into the road and took off walking. He walked all the way home and we didn't speak for weeks.
When a compulsive liar gets called out it induces a rage you have not seen. There is no doubt in my mind that there are some broken lamps in the White House right now.

(19,069 posts)Rick (Changed his name because he might post here) is 6-4, and weighed about 350 at the time. Just a monster.
Trump is probably more angry right now than he has ever been in his life. And it's probably worse for him because he's surrounded himself with yes men for decades who not only accept his lies, but reassure him that they accept them. When a compulsive liar like that gets called out to the world he is absolutely dangerous. Trump is beat red right now and probably has thrown stuff and potentially physically attacked someone. And his doctors have probably been called in. Dead serious, this is likely what has gone on around him today. He is 100% totally unhinged. They'll keep it quiet though.
I'm sure he will fire whoever told him to try to stop Comey from testifying today.
