Comeys terrifying warning: Russia is coming after America and Trump doesnt care
By Kaili Joy Gray | June 8, 2017

But Comeys statement to the Senate Intelligence Committee that Trump appeared to show no interest in Russias nefarious attempts to hack our democracy is perhaps the most alarming revelation of all.

COMEY: Well, there was an initial briefing of our findings, and I think there was conversation there, I dont remember it exactly, where he asked questions about what we had found, and what our sources were, and what our confidence level was. But after that, I dont remember anything.
But the reason this is such a big deal is we have this big, messy, wonderful country, where we fight with each other all the time. But nobody tells us what to think, what to fight about, what to vote for, except other Americans. And thats wonderful and often painful.
But were talking about a foreign government that, using technical intrusion and lots of other methods, tried to shape the way we think, we vote, we act. That is a big deal. And people need to recognize it. Its not about Republicans or Democrats.
Theyre coming after America, which I hope we all love equally. They want to undermine our credibility in the face of the world. They think that this great experiment of ours is a threat to them, and so theyre gonna try to run it down and dirty it up as much as possible. Thats what this is about. And they will be back, because we remain as difficult as we can be with each other, we remain that shining city on the hill, and they dont like it.
MANCHIN: This is extremely important, its dangerous what were dealing with.
That Russia made efforts to influence the outcome of our presidential election is not in dispute. And unfortunately, our country and the whole world cannot undo the damage. We are stuck with Donald Trump in the White House for now.
But we can and should learn the full truth of what Russia did and just how much influence it had. Thats something we will never know so long as we have a president who does not seem interested in the truth.
And that should terrify us all.

(31,112 posts)Well, they dont care as long as they benefit, meaning they are not only not patriotic but have no right any longer to even be here.
I mean holy fuck, they are ALLOWING russia to take over.
When will the media and the liberals and the rest of the world start to react APPROPRIATELY?

(37,345 posts)Trump won and that's all that's important to him. The Russians helped him. He doesn't care about that. If it is proved that campaign staff had inappropriate meetings with Russians the jig is up. A control freak like Trump most certainly involved himself. Even if his staff were smart enough to try and keep him out of it.

(6,139 posts)the testimony was so much more than I expected. I was one of the debbie downers but how glad I am now.
The investigation into Russia continues. It is the single most important thing for Americans at large to understand. Putin is succeeding in destabilizng our country and Trump is helping him.
Some facts that people may not be aware of, Russia's economy is currently on life support using reserve funds are almost depleted. That means the government won't even be able to pay pensions and salaries which would diminish Putin's power. The only way out for him is to increase oil price. How?
Create a large scale military conflict in the middle east which will cut their oil supply which will skyrockey oil prices and making Russia money again.
Trump? He also wants higher oil prices so it will become highly profitable to drill across the nation.

(49,390 posts)She asked the question: Why in Trump's nine conversations w/Comey, he never once asked about the status of Russia hacking, which was an attack on American democracy?

(12,792 posts)Russian interference is more about favoring right-wing Republicans than it is about Democrats. Russians have consistently interfered in elections worldwide in order to prop up the most right-wing, nationalist and isolationist candidates. This is obviously part of their strategy to break up international alliances that are a threat to Russia. If only McCain weren't suffering from dementia he might be one Republican up in "arms" about this.
LisaM
(27,813 posts)but he never deviates from the party in his voting. He didn't stand up for Merrick Garland's nomination. He must have known about the Russian interference, but he didn't do a thing about it.
He can call himself a patriot all he wants, but to me he's party first, country second.
AntiFascist
(12,792 posts)but he has (previously) made statements to the media implying that we need to look hard into Russian collusion, and has endorsed the idea of an independent, bipartisan commission.

(5,611 posts)Trump has shown zero interest in what happened regarding the Russians. He even blatantly met with Kislyak and Labrov in the Oval Office (I mean for fucks sake -- talk about trolling -- the fact that our gov puts up with this crude and obvious behavior scares me). His total lack of interest is remarkably like what lawyers in criminal cases call consciousness of guilt -- he doesn't ask what and who and when because he already knows.
