Okay, I'm NOT a fan of Niccole Wallace, but she just eviscerated Donald Trump, Jr

on MSNBC. They're discussing Jr's tweeting & him dissing Comey's character. Her quote:

"...but for a guy who kills baby elephants for kicks to be giving James Comey a lesson on strength of character is rich at best and pathetic at worst."

Ouch!

They better put country before party for the rest of their lives. Both of them realize the dark and dangerous places Senator McCain's presidential campaign took them. That they've had the introspection to understand this makes them bad Republicans but good Americans.

Remember, they brought prominence to that woman from Alaska.

Most of us are pretty much hacks, buying the party line, left or right. Me included. But Frum always has solid reasons for his views. Whenever I disagree with Frum, or conservative appellate judge Richard Posner, I realize there is a good chance I am the one who is mistaken. We really need to consider what these two conservatives say.

They don't have to be Democrats. Nicolle won me over when I read her account about trying to educate Sarah Palin, and even more during last year's campaign. Steve Schmidt -- that part last year when he talked about the Constitution, the separate branches of government, what good governance is supposed to be -- how Trump could not possibly do it -- and choked up. I was tearing up with him. Both of them love this country and want the best for it and all of us. They get it. The rest is just details.

They didn't give a flying fuck if she was remotely qualified to be Vice-President. All they cared about was "Gamechanger!!!" As if that somehow mattered.

Plus, quite frankly McCain himself was such a horror show. I don't understand why anyone with an ounce of integrity could have worked on his campaign. It does not appear as if either one of them has actually stood up to the Republican Party in any meaningful way.

To get a good insight into just how delusional Wallace is, read her novel "Eighteen Acres". The first female President is a Republican, so it's squarely in the realm of fantasy or science fiction. When that President's husband is unfaithful to her, she gets nothing but sympathy from the entire country. And at the end, now that she's won re-election, she's going to nominate her Press Secretary (another woman) to be Secretary of State. Whoa. How to pick really qualified people. Not.

She's written two other books but I can't bring myself to even take a look at them.

She might even become one of us, give them time. Once they have seen that the people on our side are not the jerks the GOP paints us as, they might keep going left.

Both smart and articulate and devastating to Trump. I concede I didn't follow them when they worked for McCain's campaign so they received mostly a fresh start from me last year. Perhaps undeserved but I'm not going to research as opposed to appreciating their current themes.

Ed Rollins as pundit on CNN years ago would offer lots of interesting perspective, without absurdly slanting everything toward his side.

The two worst ever were last year on CNN.
