67% of Millennial Trump Supporters Consider Themselves Alpha Males

The web preview of our “alpha male” poll, with 1,313 votes as of this writing. Contribute your own vote here.
We noticed this poll back in March: Do you consider yourself an alpha male? An alpha male assumes a dominant role in social or professional situations, and Trump’s team consistently touted his alpha personality as a key strength. Vice President Mike Pence used to routinely explain that Americans should back Trump because we need “broad-shouldered leadership,” which some interpreted as a sexist dig at Hillary Clinton.

But why, exactly, do Trump’s supporters crave an alpha-male personality in the white house? We asked male American millennials if they considered themselves to be “alpha,” and found a possible explanation in the results. Male Trump supporters are a whopping 21% more likely to consider themselves alpha males than their pro-Clinton equivalents, marking the most significant personality difference to date in our two-year-old database of 150 million responses [2]:

.......

This data could explain why two-thirds of Trump supporters believe that society has become “too soft and feminine,” while 78% of Clinton supporters don’t. Alpha males may seek “broad-shouldered” leadership that reminds them of themselves.

Thus Trump's self-image of a successful businessman does not equate with the reality of his career.

We see these types all of the time. They go out of their way to be assholes, because that's being a "real man." Don't hold doors open, scream in peoples' faces, abuse your waiter, waitress, or anyone who is unlikely to have the power to respond, obnoxiously yell sexist jokes to your equally douchey friends to show how "alpha" you are. Treat women like non-human sex vending machines, and brag about it to your friends.

These men are all mentally abused. They've had this crap forced into their minds because they've been told that they're useless otherwise. It's sad.

It's sounds like the pretentious compensating factor one might use if one had a fascination with the military without having the stones to serve. It is, as they say, to laugh...

The guy I know who is really actively pro-Trump - a member of Bikers for Trump - mansplains a lot and condescends. The thing is, he's not very bright and just isn't aware of how ignorant he is. He just hangs with his bike and gun posse and they certainly won't challenge his self-image.
