MD Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) hands Romney fluffer Jindal his Romney-loving ASS.

O’Malley hammers Romney: Swiss bank account never built an American bridge

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/07/08/omalley-hammers-romney-swiss-bank-account-never-built-an-american-bridge/

By David Edwards

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) struggled on Sunday to explain presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s investments outside the United States, including Swiss bank accounts and a corporation in Bermuda.

During an interview with ABC’s Terry Moran, Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) ripped into Romney for betting “against America” with his foreign investments.

“President Obama is not running against the Almighty, he is running against the alternative,” O’Malley explained. “And the alternative in this case is Gov. Mitt Romney, who had the 47th worst job-creation rate as governor, and also has a penchant, a talent for offshoring American jobs — sending them overseas. And also maintaining offshore bank accounts in Bermuda, Swiss bank accounts.”

The Maryland governor added: “I’ve never known of a Swiss bank account to build an American bridge, a Swiss bank account to create American jobs, or Swiss bank accounts to rebuild the levies to protect the people of New Orleans. That’s not an economic strategy for moving our country forward.”

for younger DUers, Goldsboro did this imitation of a cricket chirping-- or a frog or something-- he'd do it like a ventriloquist when on talk shows and everyone would look around to see where it was coming from. Hilarious. The first couple times he did it on Mike Douglas, at least. Anyway Jindal's voice and hairstyle reminds me of Goldsboro and I could just imagine him trying it in an interview as an evasive maneuver...

Larry O'Donnell: "Gov Jindal, how do you defend Mitt Romney's record of vulture capitalism while the nation is recovering from a near depression owing to exactly that sort of practice?"
Jindal: {cricket imitation}
O'Donnell: "What the hell was that?"
Jindal: "I don't know but I was about to say {cricket imitation}"
O'Donnell: "What's going on there, Governor?"
Jindal: "I-- "

I work with several people who specifically moved to Maryland from other states for the job opportunities. Low taxes don't mean much when you're not earning a paycheck in the first place.

The roads here are better than other states I've lived in, the schools are the best in the nation, we have solid environmental protection policies, and four of our counties made the list of the most prosperous counties in the nation:

Tue Jul 10, 2012, 07:16 PM
Jul 2012

You trust an anti-tax group to tell you the truth, do you? Also in that article:

Some argue, however, that there is little real evidence that higher state taxes drive out large numbers of high earners. Neil Bergsman, director of the Maryland Budget and Tax Policy Institute, said while a number of people left the state between 2007 and 2010, others moved in. The net loss, he said, is “very small,” he said.

What’s more, he points out that the wealthy usually move because of a job change, life change or retirement rather than taxes.

“There is no evidence that tax structures are a significant determinant in their location choices,” Bergsman said.

What’s more, he said, Maryland is still minting high-earners and has among the highest incomes and highest concentration of millionaires in the country.

Also, where did your claim of "he's taxing the poor and middle class for everything but breathing" come from? Your article was a claim that very rich people were moving.

This line of attack is hitting Romney where it hurts. I can't wait to see where it goes from here!

It's impossible to put a favorable spin on Romney's offshoring of jobs and lack of faith in America when he invests his money in Switzerland. The best Jindal could do is say that Obama has never run a business. It was a pathetic defense but I don't think it would be possible to defend the indefensible. Maybe he should just start spouting someone's name continuously during interviews like Joe Walsh.

I wish that whenever these rethugs spewed the "He never ran a business" bullshit, the Dem would just say, "So what?" I am so bloody sick of that line. The government isn't a fucking business, and it's well past time that people understood that. Nor, is a business a democracy, and it cracks me up that these allegedly democracy-loving jerkwads can't let that notion into their thick skulls. With those pea-brains of theirs, it's not like there isn't plenty of room there.

I want it run like a frikkin' ** GOVERNMENT!!** That's what it IS! It's not a for-profit enterprise, ferchrissakes! It needs to be run in a way that it does the job it's supposed to do--to protect our rights, our persons, and our property, and to build the kind of society that people want. That is all.

...I fucking can't stand this walking piece of splooge. Lurch the Fucking StiffTM is the fucking anti-American, won't fight, won't invest, won't work, won't have anything to do with real Americans. He ran away from Vietnam to sit it out in France as a fucking, magic underwear missionary; fucking offshored jobs to India; and fucking raised five fucking whelps with his horsey dressage wife, who during the last decade of combat sat on the fucking sidelines.

This Koooooccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhsucker deserves the scorn of every decent American and any fuckwit who votes for this motherfucking assclown is nothing more than a hater of America to his or her core.

I fucking despise this shitstain.

32. Jindal's governor?

I wish I had a governor as governor instead of Jindal. Bluster, fluster - he flubbed BP and parlayed Roveian tactics post-Katrina into his incompetence. Horrible, horrible governor - forget his lunatic philosophy. He's made things a lot worse here.

Louisiana has a governor? Bobby-on-the-Road Jindal spends less time in Baton Rouge than Romney spent in America when subject to the Vietnam draft. His billis in the Louisiana legislature are written by ALEC, the words that come out of his mouth are given to him by the Republican party, and, ironically, he has been sucking off of the government teat since he was a pup and has never had a job outside of government---the same thing he denounces Obama for.

He sucked up to Perry---until that imploded. Now he is sucking up to Romney. But in Louisiana, who cares? The Republican morons in Louisiana voted for Santorum because Gingrich wasn't hardcore enough. So Jindal is preaching to a choir that is even less-informed than he is.

Jindal is far out of his range and I'd not material for the state of Louisiana. People voted for him because he had R behind his name and he is anti-abortion. He says Obama never ran a business and Jindal has never needed an abortion but he thinks him able to run on anti-abortion platform. And besides his lack of ability his parents was not citizens of the USA when he was born, the birther therory.

My husband and I retired and moved to SouthCarolina 5 years ago. We love the weather and the community we live in. But, you get what you pay for. The schools here are horrible, the political corruption and ineptness are unbelievable. No parks, unemployment is high and don't get me started on the politics. Suffice it to say that Joe Wilson, who called Obama a liar is my congressman!

Makes me wish I could trade the governor of my current state (Florida) with that of my native state (Maryland), except I wouldn't want to wish Rick Scott on my worst enemy, let alone the state of my birth.

I want this man at the top of the ticket. We need a guy that can spank with facts like he is using a paddle.

If our biggest problem is messaging, O'Mally goes a long way towards curing that problem. Time to get a bit rougher with the dialog.

ABC - that gets it in front of low information voters who won't go to MSNBC and watch Bashir, Maddow, Sharpton and see how they eviscerate these people.
