I've been waiting for something like this to emerge, easy enough for even the dumbest teabagger to understand. Sharing widely - and I hope this thread gets more legs on the Greatest Page. Thanks for finding and posting!

What Obamacare does:

It forces every American, under the eventual threat of government force, to purchase all-too-often worthless insurance at any price the insurance companies desire to charge. If you happen to be dirt poor, no problem, the government will borrow the money and hand that to the insurance companies while leaving your kids stuck with the bill.

What Obamacare does not do:

Provide anyone with healthcare or lower the price of healthcare. It does not stop insurance companies from continuing to crank their rates into the stratosphere -- it now enables them to do it even faster knowing that they have a captive customer base. Insurance companies can still continue to charge ludicrous co-pays, they can continue to deny claims, they can continue doing everything they have always done in the past to screw their customers over. They were given the world, the people were given the shaft.

It's not like I am not used to this, but I never thought I would see a Democrat President sign a Heritage Foundation proposal into law, and other Democrats defending it like it was some kind of liberal victory.

...to "borrow the money" to help people afford health care than to bomb the shit out of other countries.

Oh, and "eventual threat of government force" is RW nonsense.

Are you kidding? You think the government is going to let you get away with not paying your fine/tax if you don't purchase a policy from a gleefully grinning insurance salesman? Get real.

I do not support borrowing money to buy bombs OR borrowing money to give to insurance companies.

If, in fact, we were borrowing money to provide actual healthcare, I would support it while questioning why we need to borrow the money at all. But again, that's not what Obamacare does.

Obamacare is a corporate subsidy disguised as an entitlement. As a liberal, I am opposed to corporatism. But that's just me.
