Are the House and Senate Dems putting forth a good plan to fix Obamacare and derail Trumpcare?

Trumpcare is a murderous mess. I am very uneasy that the Republicans are trying to take away benefits from many Americans who need those benefits desperately. I am one such person.

I feel that the Democrats can fix the problems with Obamacare and make it quite a bit better. Whatever it takes, even if that "fix" is Medicare for all.

My question is: Are the Democrats putting forth a strong plan to fix Health care without the disaster that will be Trumpcare? I am afraid they are not. I am afraid that too many are beholden to the Drug companies, etc. What Democrats are leading this charge?

I would really appreciate some facts on this subject. Of course everything is being obscured by the smoke of the Russia probe. I would like to know if there is a good plan out there that will be used to help Democrats win big in 2018. How is that looking?

I truly appreciate any comments and discussion.

Apart from objections to the AHCA, I have not heard of D.C. Dems pushing solutions. LonePirate Jun 2017 #1

The only improvements I hear of are coming from citizens, activists and state politicians.

the House version, and the Senate version was done in secret without Democrats allowed in?

Any proposal the Democrats make will never see the light of day.

Elections have consequences.

2018 is our only chance to put the breaks on this disaster

The Senate is going to be very difficult to take back. We have 25 seats to defend, and the republicans have on 8, and most of those 8 seats the republicans control are in very red states. That does not mean it cannot happen

The House on the other hand looks far more promising:

Around 39 republicans have seats to defend in the House, verses 14 for the Democrats

Realistically, 2018 is the only way we can stop the republicans

I do realize the weak positions of the Democrats in the House and Senate. I just feel that a strong plan to truly fix Health Care would be one of the best campaign issues available for 2018. As voters, even Trump voters, wake up to the nightmare that is Trumpcare they need to see that "help is on the way" if they put trustworthy Democrats in office in the mid term. Health Care is a powerful motivating force.

Trump was elected, to a large extent, because he spoke to poor folks about replacing Obamacare with something much better and much cheaper. He now has abandoned those false promises. Ryan and the other Republican ghouls need to be defeated and a strong and logical Health Care fix would help.

I don't know if the Media will cover it but ways need to be found to get it before the people. Certainly during the campaigns leading up to 2018 there will be opportunities to be heard on the subject.

We have just got to take back the House or the Senate or BOTH! This might be our last chance.

Hadn't thought of it before, but you're right. Even if it doesn't stand a chance in hell, the PR would be tremendous. Well worth it.
