Some Thoughts on Trump Firing Mueller

Years ago I worked for a Congressman who would 'trial balloon' a piece of legislation he was uncertain about by feeding his ideas to the press to see what the blow back would be. The reaction he got would determine whether he would proceed or not. To me, that is what the Dumpster did today by leaking to the press he was considering the idea of firing Mueller. So the Dumpster and Nazi-lover Bannon saw the same thing I did - a tepid response from the Repugs in Congress. So far I haven't seen or heard anything from the triumvirate of McConnell, Ryan and McCain. The only ones who were featured on MSNBC were Collins, Graham and "big deal" Rubio. My impression from this is very depressing. I feel that if there isn't a stronger reaction from the Repug Congress, the Dumpster will indeed fire Mueller and play chicken with the Repugs to remove him from office. If the Dumpster wins this one, he has a clear shot to do anything he wishes for however long he wants, for however long he is in power. I'm sure Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III will do little if anything to stand in his way. We really are heading into the abyss.

Giving an interview after hanging out with his pal, Donald Trump. I don't think he made it up - maybe or was a trial balloon or a distraction. Either way, it totally blew up in the Trumps' face. Spectacularly. So incompetent.

She watched the Nixon hearings faithfully, read everything she could and is a "student" of Watergate. She's saying the firing of Mueller would be the tipping point and or tip of the hat to Nixon.

I have an old copy of All The President's Men. I need to read it again. I was born in 73 so I don't have it in the back of my mind like I do Contra or the Clinton witch hunt.

They would privately inform Trump that if Mueller were to be fired, they would have no choice but to proceed with articles of impeachment.

and put a stop to all russia matter. They are already complaining that it distracts legislature. They care only about deregulation, tax cuts, repeals, etc.

Of course Trump wants to fire Mueller. That's as far as his thinking goes.

I think the Republicans will go along with it. I hope it wakes up a few more Democratic voters.
