It gets scarier every day.

I really do not believe there is a Republican in Congress who will look beyond their own self interest and do what is best for the country. Secret health care deals, blatant lying, collusion with enemies -- nothing matters other than undoing what that black guy did. And giving themselves tax cuts. Soul-less, amoral cons, every one of them.

I really don't expect impeachment, or even a censure or hand-slap. Trumpsky is good for their agenda. And I've seen it/experienced first hand, when far less money was at stake; these type of con men will always line their own pockets before they give a rat's ass about anyone else. It's just business.

There would be lots of hearings. Ken Starr would get a career boost. But yeah...anyone black, female, or named Clinton would be impeached under this Congress.

Other than the fact he's creepy and weird in a general sense, but so are most of the Republicans, so....

Why do they need Trump specifically? What's stopping them from gathering at the White House and asking he resign "for the good of the country" (actually "for the good of the party&quot ?

It will take too long, leading up to the 2018 election. They're all about to take the next year off to go campaigning to save their asses. They can't be mired in a regime change. Devil you know...Trumpsky will sign ANYTHING they send him, as long as it hurts America and they can blame it on Obama. Might as well stick with the plan for now. Pence will be President after the GOP Congressional bloodbath in 2018.

Impeaching Trump would required considerable Republican support. That would transition to even more clout lost on their side. That is always a good thing for us. You are also working under the assumption that Pence is just "creepy and weird in a general sense." If Trump goes by way of impeachment he would then become our main target. It would happen immediately. Pence would then be opposed by a sizable Democratic coalition and the Tea Party. Republicans wouldn't simply all join together. Thirty plus percent of their constituency would see the impeachment of Trump as a sign of Republican cowardice. The infighting going on in their party at the current moment is far worse than what Democrats are witnessing from within. That would escalate ten-fold with Republicans if Trump were to be impeached.

And they put those two things above everything else. It doesn't matter what shape the country is in. They will throw it under the bus if they get to piss off liberals doing it. They are liars, sociopaths, and assholes.

Especially after that s--- show yesterday. My God. Does anybody that actually holds political office give a crap about this country anymore? The fact that he's trying to run this country like its his own personal business, the fascist move of "hiring" his spoiled brat kids, the collusion, the Mar-A-Lago trips, and that's jus the "tame" stuff!!! ...I cannot fathom how any ONE of them can swallow this, like they did yesterday, in demonstrable fashion.

I was no Reagan fan, but know much of the idiots in Washington see him as some kind of Saint, and find it ironic that he'd be rolling over in his grave to know of the Russian influence on the election, and at this moment, in the White House itself. Just goes to show how much they've sold their own souls.

I wonder on a daily basis if we will survive this. And it pisses me off that I even have to think like that.

I had lunch with some old friends last weekend. I wasn't aware of their political affiliation. I had an inkling because they had briefly mentioned something about Ted Cruz at one point, but even that wasn't enough to warn me of what bobble heads they've become.

We spent the entire lunch arguing politics. The husband brought up Trump and at first, I tried to deflect. I hadn't gone to lunch to argue politics, and we had plenty of other things we could have talked about. But he persisted and so I damn well did, too. I will not let the stupidity and the lies go unchallenged. The utter and complete bullshit that came out of his mouth was appalling. They believe every lie that is being fed to them by the Trump organization. There is no Russian connection. Trump is doing great things. Would I like to see a list of the things that he has accomplished since he's been in office? No, thank you.

I asked how ANYONE could support an obvious slime ball like Trump, and of course, it was that Hillary was worse. I responded that NO, Hillary did NOT have a child porn ring at a pizza parlor in New Jersey.

They constantly complained about how they've worked their whole lives and don't have anything to show for it. Duh! They complained about not having adequate health care. Their reasoning for supporting Trump when you get down to the nitty gritty? They feel that they are being persecuted because they are Christians. When I asked how, they didn't have an answer.

American has become THAT damn dumb! THAT is what is scary to me!

Rest assured, I will never make that mistake again. Those two people have been put on ignore much as any others that I have known supported Trump. I have nothing to argue with them about because they are too stupid to have a valid argument with.

If Trump fires Mueller, and Republicans go along with it, all they have to do is
suppress the 2018 vote and they have it all.

Don't mistake it for anything less. The rest is just noise.

Not because I think they necessarily have integrity, but because despite all the protestations on the Right, what these few GOPers have seen of the evidence has them hedging their bets. They see a real need to distance themselves from the Trump failheap.

I've read enough of Trump's budget which will sail thru the republican congress and basically cripple the country to be very worried. The Senate is working on their version of the reptilican healthcare bill in secret, and apparently reporters are being banned from covering what's going on. What's going on is a dictatorship and the republicans filling their pockets in defiance of the laws of the land and its people.

Republicans do not have spines and are unable to stand on their own. If Democrats do not take the House, it is highly unlikely Trump will ever be impeached.
