The Democrats have a playbook. We know it: Its resist, obstruct, she told Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. Now its, throw doubt on the administration, open as many investigations as possible, cloud the administration as much as possible, because theyre trying to run out the clock on 2018.
Thats
pretty damned accurate. And its nice that the RNC chair sees 2018 hanging out there like a big The End sign. However, unlike eight (8) Benghazi hearings and the endless efforts to find something, anything, wrong with Hillary Clintons email, the problem for Trump is that theres genuinely a lot of there there. This isnt a Republican-dominated Congress cobbling together reasons to investigate a Democratic administration and candidate. This is a Republican-dominated Congress reluctantly agreeing that a Republican regime warrants investigation.
So, when the RNC chair says this
Im calling for an end to the investigations about President Trumps campaign colluding with Russians, she said. Theres been no evidence of it. I dont think that should continue.
Someone might want to remind her that, not only is there enough evidence to support these investigations, including the Special Counsel investigation, her fellow Republicans agreebecause if they hadnt agreed, the investigations wouldnt exist.

(7,532 posts)---But thats Tuesday. Right now, the tone is a lot different with Republicans pledging to embrace an agenda for the next two years that sounds a lot like their agenda for the past two: Block Obama at all costs.
Heres John Boehner, the likely speaker if Republicans take the House, offering his plans for Obamas agenda: We're going to do everything and I mean everything we can do to kill it, stop it, slow it down, whatever we can.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell summed up his plan to National Journal: The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.
