of most Virginia democratic officials so he won.

elections are often about state and local politics so what cable news is discussing or what is important to some other town or state is not always the same with other places.

i always tell people if they want different elected officials they need to go to the people in that officials district/state and find out from them why they support that person and what issues are important to them.

encourage his (young) voters to turn out...there were many "Our revolution" types on the ground...but the voters didn't turn out. Perriello was endorsed by both Warren and Sanders. There is a message somewhere in there.

I would add that there is no reason to believe that Sen. Sanders or Warren endorsements for that matter works in moderate or red states...as all of his picks have gone down. I mention this only to reinforce the idea that we need a big tent with a diversity of views in order to take the majority in Congress. Northam is very liberal and has run strongly against Trump. They both did.

He maybe needs to stand down as his endorsement is popular with his die-hards, with others, not so much.

This split doesn't bode well for 2018 which is the last thing we need.

A certain Dem-bashing non-Dem continues to be a problem.

quite often. This is why I give no money to groups like 'our revolution'...while I often agree with their politics, they go after Democrats and not Republicans. This is a deal breaker for me. I also won't vote for any of their candidates in a primary for the same reason. I don't think Sen. Sanders has as much influence over actual voters as some think.

On the climate issue alone, incrementalism is a deadly strategy. My hope is that a progressive block can be created in this country and their ideas and energy spread out from there. Conservative politics will be the death of us all.

is baloney. Sometimes, it is incrementalism or nothing. I don't see how primarying Democrats in safe seats...waste of money and time will do any of what you say. We risk losing those seats with a new person.

although I agree with 'our revolution' and groups like this politically, I don't support them at all...if they were fighting the GOP instead of wasting money in blue states primarying sitting Democrats, it would be different. Even running Perriello was a bad idea. Northam was a great candidate and money and time was wasted with this primary.

Hell, you're sporting a Mariners logo, so I'll assume you're local.

Bernie won the WA caucuses, Hillary won the popular vote. It looks to me like Bernie supporters are a vocal minority. That seems to work for the Repubs, I don't think it does so well for Dems. I'll withhold judgement.

Change itself is not bad, but we're learning first hand what amateur hour in the White House looks like. Not all Dem incumbents are evil.

who are not even from that state don't really carry a lot of weight. Local endorsements are far more important.

In the end, Bernie Sanders is a Senator from Vermont. That's who he is and has been. Most people in this country have never even been to Vermont. He's also a former primary candidate for President, but did not prevail and get the nomination.

Still, Senator Sanders is more than welcome to give his endorsement to whomever he chooses. What affect that endorsement will have, however, may not determine which candidate has the best chance to win. Other things are far more important in most elections that an out-of-stater's endorsement, frankly.

Bernie is Bernie. We can't define everyone he endorses on that endorsement alone. That in itself gives Sanders more respect and power than he deserves. We need to get behind the Democrat who wins the primary. "The other guy" stated that before the votes were even counted. That means something to me.

I'm not saying we should ignore what you have stated. It's just that we need to judge the candidates on their own merits. I'm not big on Sanders but I would gladly accept his endorsement if I were running.
