He is so useless. Even at a time like this. I can't wait till this freak show is over. I hope the police that were shot are O.K. I don't care about the congressman. He's an asshole.
My sympathy is exausted .
And your right.
I believe unless he is praising himself he doesn't know what to say.

(12,448 posts)1. He's terrible at reading anything
2. He doesn't believe what he's reading
3. He can't even fake sincerity and empathy, since he has neither.
4. He's trying, and failing, to speak to the country instead of his Deplorables.
No wonder he doesn't like teleprompters.

(52,331 posts)teleprompters make absolute sense for planned speeches, especially at major events like national conventions, or formal addresses to the nation. even many campaign speeches, although you don't want to overly rely on this, the audience also needs to see the "real you".
however, after a tragedy is an absolutely horrible time to use a teleprompter. the situation calls for an emotional appeal to support, resolve and unity. people need to see a genuine (albeit controlled) emotional reaction and sincere appeal.
benedict donald is using a teleprompter because, yet again, he is pathetically not up to the task. he's simply can't get the tone right for this sort of thing. all he'd be able to do it attack and blame, and that's not what's called for.

(82,849 posts)Is he finally offering some words of comfort to Portland for the stabbings on the MAX? It's been a couple of weeks, but better late than never to send us his condolences, I guess.
