anyone else having a John Hinckley flashback parallel?

lone, mentally impaired individual (and it's not a stretch to assume today's shooter had mental issues), making an attempt at political assassination, an administration against gun control, and administration which wants to drastically gut funding for things like mental institutions, thus the assassination attempt clearly illustrates WHY such funding cuts area bad idea, and can, and probably will, have tragic consequences.
