Can I mention that one of the Hero Officers is a Lesbian who is Married ?

I know this should not matter in the same way it wouldn't matter if she was straight and married to a man.

but as long as we are talking about unity , the best of america, political civility etc wouldn't this include the lgbt community and equal rights for them ? right now the rights of this group are threatened . she is married but the Trump administration and most of the republicans do not support this right.

both of the officers were black and if you saw the comments from trump supporters about Kamala Harris yesterday those same attacks would have been an attack on those 2 officers.

the right wing is trying to exploit this to attack liberals, sanders, etc . but if they are honest they would look to themselves also.

Especially in light of how the right has chosen to politicize this!

Even when she knew that they were the same people who didn't want to give her equal protection under the law to love and marry who she chooses.

I actually called the president of my Daughter's school and complained about protesters some packing on campus with evil signs...calling for the death of LGBTQ kids. The protesters had learned about the Unity meeting on Facebook. I also went to the next meeting with a group of other parents armed with cameras...many did not want their pictures taken...the school no longer allows this. You have to fight for your kids. My older daughter is dating a very nice young Black man...and has taken some heat from rednecks. I fear for the safety of both my kids in Trump's America where he has unleashed the haters.
