I wonder if Rosenstein will recuse himself, as he is not just witness, but directly involved in the firing by providing Trump with cover excuse, but then recommending Trump be investigated for obstruction even before hiring Mueller. He already knew that Trump had wanted Comey to go easy on Flynn.

I wonder if Rosenstein thought Comey was too slow and not effective in handling Trump/Russia investigation and would botch it anyway, so he was willing to facilitate firing Comey knowing that Mueller was in wings to take over and fast track the investigation on more secure footing than under Comey.

Seems like Rosenstein played Trump at Comey's expense, going along with providing cover deliberately setting up Trump for the firing but then turning the tables on Trump.
