Two years ago today, I watched an idiot descend on a golden escalator and say

"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

I have been thoroughly traumatized from that moment. You?

I think it was hoped we'd be so exhausted and lethargic by now we just wouldn't give a flying flip about dft, his family, his henchmen, his "policies" - ummm, yeah - no, I don't think so.

Rock steady, DU, and many thanks for being here!!!

And frankly, he still stands a good chance at embarrassing the GOP but unfortunately it has involved him actually being elected President in doing so.

I was worried about him from the get-go, though. I know if there was even a slight chance he'd be elected president, it would cause a lot of problems.

we quaintly like to call our election process. It has evolved into a lengthy process that devours tons of money and is nothing short of a food fight, only using words. Most of the American voters are worn to a nub by the time we get down to brass tacks of who the final candidates will be.

This last cycle was especially vicious and disturbing. Not only were there a lot of wanna bees that had to be eliminated, but tRump brought a whole new level of crudeness and hatefulness to the stage. I remember watching the faces of the other candidates when tRump would attack them with nasty nicknames and phony accusations. Most were just hoping he wouldn't notice them and that he'd mercifully leave them out of the fray. They all had their turn as the target as tRump bumped them off the stage, one by one. It was a sh*t show but some people seemed to really get into it. They actually LIKED what they saw in tRump.

Now that he has been in office long enough to set a track record, we know the sh*t show continues. The notion that he'd pivot to the dignity of the office is long gone. No one (in their right mind) thinks that anymore. All the dire predictions by people who have known tRump for decades are unfolding every day he occupies the White House. It is pretty obvious that something really nefarious happened during the last election cycle. And that is not idle conspiracy theorists spinning out fiction. We have proof. Granted, not all of the proof has been revealed but enough has hit the fan to make people sit up and take notice. Do please, tell us more. Just how badly were we screwed over by tRump and the Putin invaders?

If nothing else, we have learned to be wary of someone stepping onto the electoral stage like a rock star descending from a throne. When people who know someone entertaining the idea of entering the contest for elected office tell you to proceed with caution, listen to them. When mental health experts strongly suggest that someone among the candidates may be exhibiting signs of serious mental disorders, they might have a point worth your consideration.

Now we watch, wait and make our voices heard. Calls, letters, emails, marches---whatever it takes to let those congressmen in a position to help us know where we stand. Encourage those who are investigating what happened in the tRump campaign to get to the bottom of the alleged crimes. No one wants to think we were HAD by tRump or Putin but if that is where the investigation leads, gird your loins and go forward.

Things are starting to get interesting in the last week. Pull up a chair and pop some corn. Whatever happens this summer is going to go in the historical record.
