I’ve covered Obamacare since day one. I’ve never seen lying and obstruction like this.

This has become more evident each day, as the Senate plots out a secretive path toward Obamacare repeal — and top White House officials (including the president) consistently lie about what the House bill actually does.

There was even a brief moment Tuesday where Senate Republicans flirted with the idea of banning on-camera interviews in congressional hallways, a plan quickly reversed after outcry from the press.

“The extreme secrecy is a situation without precedent, at least in creating health care law,” writes Julie Rovner, who has covered health care politics since 1986 and is arguably the dean of the DC health care press corps.

My biggest concern isn’t the hypocrisy; there is plenty of that in Washington. It’s that the process will lead to devastating results for millions of Americans who won’t know to speak up until after the damage is done. So far, the few details that have leaked out paint a picture of a bill sure to cover millions fewer people and raise costs on those with preexisting conditions.

The plan is expected to be far-reaching, potentially bringing lifetime limits back to employer-sponsored coverage, which could mean a death sentence for some chronically ill patients who exhaust their insurance benefits.

Senate Republicans do not appear to be focused on carefully crafting policy that reflects a more conservative, free market attempt at achieving President Donald Trump’s goals of covering every American at lower cost. They’re focused on passing something, by whatever means necessary. That may come back to haunt them electorally, but not until millions suffer the consequences.................................

Nearly 1 million jobs lost under Houses AHCA: study
The Republican-controlled U.S. Senate has received constant waves of criticism over its secret tinkering with the controversial and widely panned American Healthcare Act (AHCA)—even from President Donald Trump, who reportedly said it was “mean” and asked that it be “more generous.”

Trump’s characterization of the bill, which passed the House of Representatives last month, could very well be correct, and may even affect one of his top campaign promises: boosting the economy and jobs.

A study examining how each state could be affected if it passes the Senate and is written into law, published Wednesday by The Commonwealth Fund, found that by 2026 nearly one million jobs could be lost, state gross domestic products could shrink by $93 billion and businesses could suffer a $148 billion bite.

When the House passed the bill on May 24, critics focused in particular on the Congressional Budget Office’s estimate that 23 million Americans would be uninsured by 2026 and Medicaid would see $880 billion in cuts over the same eight years.

But the new study appears to be focusing directly on the president’s main concern—the economy—one of the few places he’s claimed success after five months in office.

Should the bill be passed this year and enacted in 2018, there would be initial job growth that would gradually taper off. The bill ultimately would result in the loss of jobs in as many as 10 states, according to the study...................

Did you hear about the guy in MI regards the Flint water situation?

He said if people die, so what, everybody dies.

The R governor there should be in jail, of course, too.

I dont want to keep saying the TRUTH about the GOP agenda and use the K word because I dont want to contribute to the problem.

But this is simple folks, the cons will K _ _ _ many many of us and soon.
