Trump: "My friend Steve Scalise took a bullet for all of us???"

Trump, in Miami, right now.

How exactly did Steve Scalise take a bullet for all of us?

He took a bullet because of a senseless act of violence. He was on a ball field and an unhinged guy opened fire.

It was a vile act, and no one...repeat, no one...deserves to be on the receiving end.

I am just struggling to understand how Steve Scalise "took a bullet" for you, for me, for anyone else.

In 25 words or less, that is what happened.

Men and women who sign up for the Military and are injured or killed in the line of duty "take a bullet for us."

This was not that.

Who makes gun carnage possible.

Every day in this country about 289 people are shot by guns. Without enablers like Scalise and the rest of the Republicans, there would be much fewer gun deaths as well as much less fear and intimidation,.

... by protecting elected politicians whose views they might strongly disagree with.

Scalise, not so much.

But I think Trump's statement is worse than we want to believe. The "us" he's talking about are all those deplorables who support him without question.

From Trump's narcissistic perspective the rest of us are the enemy, and therefore Steve Scalise is seen as standing tall against us, all the Hillary and Bernie inspired "terrorists" who want to see Trump fail. He wants to lump us all together with a madman shooting a gun.

for ANYBODY! He was in the line of fire of an unhinged lunatic who should never have had a gun in the first place! He was in the wrong place at the wrong time and that was the extent of it.
