BOMBSHELL: Russian assassins are suspected of killing 14 people in Britain — but UK authorities are looking away

From Russia With Blood

Lavish London mansions. A hand-painted Rolls-Royce. And eight dead friends. For the British fixer Scot Young, working for Vladimir Putin's most vocal critic meant stunning perks – but also constant danger. His gruesome death is one of 14 that US spy agencies have linked to Russia – but the UK police shut down every last case. A bombshell cache of documents today reveals the full story of a ring of death on British soil that the government has ignored.

This is terrifying to contemplate though. I hate that the US and other countries are crawling with Russian agents and assassins. I also hate that the orange asshole in the White House plays fast and loose with these people.

I don't know if the UK authorities are looking the other way but as the piece makes clear they certainly don't seem eager to look into these cases, of which there are way too many to be accidental or suicide. It seems we are watching a criminal gang in the form of a powerful state attack democracies through cyber warfare and thuggery that includes murder - and it all is being done right before our eyes with little pushback.

Oh, and as the article says, they could soon be bringing their mafia tactics to America. Why wouldn't they? They have attacked and are still attacking our democracy and half the country doesn't care.

Me.

If I was 45 I wouldn't be shaking any Russian hands in the Oval office now.

Buzzfeed seems to mostly be regurgitating a "The Independent" article. That's a British tabloid that is, interestingly, owned by one of the RUSSIAN mobster oligarchs. Not one of the dead ones who crossed Putin, either.

Gee, it seems like the UK government is so corrupt and incompetent, can't to anything right any more: Brits should be mad, should be unhappy and fearful. Maybe they should go find a shiny new leader who promises to "reform" their government by purging all the experienced professionals.

I'm not sure where you get the "based on The Independent" reporting. Or how this story of Russian government assassind is supposed to destabilize the U.K., or why anyone on this website wouldn't want Tories gone anyway.

why not include some more RESPONSIBLE links, rather than suggesting it was as disreputable as the other sources. (You'd have to look longer than I did, apparently, to find one pushing this corrupt-government angle, though.)

We all really. really need to be aware when media are pushing angles originally crafted in Russia. Russian psych ops stuff is all over the place, but it was easy to see what was happening here JUST BY GOOGLING THE TOPIC and looking to see who all were reporting (and just as significant who not!) and what they were reporting. Didn't take at all long, either.

The tie back to The Independent, and thus Russia, was exactly one. Full-on JD investigation not needed.
