Jill Stein And Her Green Pals Arent Sorry, Not One Bit

I can't help but loathe these people.

“So does Stein, with the benefit of hindsight, have any regrets? “I don’t think so,” she tells me by phone from her home in Lexington, Massachusetts. Decrying “fake news,” citing the “sabotage of Bernie Sanders” and talking up the “tremendous” campaign she could have run with more money, Stein is projecting a Trump-worthy level of defiance. “I consider it a great honor that the party and our prior campaign for president is suddenly being attacked outside of an election season,” she says.”…cont…

“I thought I might be able to find some daylight between Stein and other Green Party leaders, who I expected might be troubled at any role they might have played in helping elect a man who once claimed climate change was a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese.
I was wrong.

“In some ways, Trump is one of the best things to happen to this country because look at how many people are getting off their posteriors,” says Sherry Wells, the Green Party’s Michigan chairwoman. “So part of me is giggling.”

People who voted for stein had every right to do that. People who stayed home, OTOH, are the ones who should be held responsible.

I'm saying that still thinking stein and her voters are idiots, but that's their right.

Actually, I would argue that voting for Giggles was worse. There are various reasons why many people stayed home, and not all of them had to do with wanting to screw with our elections. Our country doesn't make it easy for a lot of its citizens to vote, neither through the process itself nor efforts to educate and engage voters. Our media is much to blame. But voting for Jill Stein was a deliberate act to thwart the victory of the more liberal party. People have every right to condemn anyone who made that choice.

Her word-for-word, pitch perfect repetition of the Kremlin line on the '16 election bothers me a lot. Sure, it could be an innocent coincidence.

But it's not.

And that puts her on the same shelf as Flynn, Manafort, Kushner & Co. They're all enemies of American democracy.

And I really, truly dislike that sanctimonious hypocrite - but Clinton won the popular vote decisively. People will argue forever (it seems) about the electoral vote, but I think most will agree Green voters didn't move the needle in any state.

I think some Green voters are delusional; I think (perhaps hope) that the majority are idealistic and naïve. Stein herself is a moron; if she had more power or influence she'd be a dangerous moron. Green voters are an easy target but I don't think they're really the problem or the enemy. For one reason - there's just not enough of them.

Ralph Nader in 2000 gave Florida to Bush allowing the Supreme Court to give it to him.

Jill Stein in 2016, gave Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, to Donald Trump.

They knew full-well that a President Trump would be a distinct possibility and that his agenda would be detrimental to the planet. They knew what also happened in 2000's election. Yet JS still decided to run for president, and her camp still attacked the major party that is closest to their supposed beliefs far more than the GOP. These people seem to have the "tanking" mentality. It is similar to baseball, where some fans think that if their team can't win it all, it might be better to lose out, have a fire sale, and rise up with better prospects. They won't openly admit it, but the Greens and their followers think their best chance of getting 100% of what they want is for the GOP to continue winning and setting the country back (instead of Democrats winning), and for enough people to start voting Green once everything is in ruins.
