What was the strategy?

Can someone please explain it to me?

All that money into a race that some say "we never expected to win", demoralizing all the people who sent money, not billionaire donors but people of modest means?

Hyping this race the way they did, it seems to me, was a bad gamble for dealing the people a psychological blow after having the presidential election literally stolen.

Forgive me, I am both angry and terrified at what this country has become.

They know better than I do that any close race can easily be tampered with.

It is to be expected.

That candidate won, but turned out to be a wife abuser and hedge fund owner.

I was in a funk for months after Kerry lost. I've tried to avoid that this time.
