Is residency really an issue to voters?

Last edited Wed Jun 21, 2017, 08:15 AM - Edit history (1)

Especially when the Atlanta area is full of transplants, or does it only matter when the race gets national attention? they would have used the same Pelosi-Hollywood claims if Ossoff had lived in GA6 for years and will in 2018 no matter what the real place of residence the Dem has, but how much will it work beyond the more educated Repuke base that may not like tRump a whole lot?

No, 29 members of congress don't live in the districts they represent. Cattledog Jun 2017 #1
That's what I keep reminding people Phentex Jun 2017 #4

Yes, I agree. It was self inflicted, and a stick used to beat him throughout the campaign. OnDoutside Jun 2017 #3

But down here the "other" IS important. One ad had a woman with a heavy Boston accent saying he's not one of us.
It's a mindset.

It's like starting in a hole credibility wise.

"I care about the people of this district. Not enough to live here, but I care". Doesn't exactly seem heartfelt does it?

It gives your opponent something easy to attack you on that you don't have any defense against, other than to try explain away why your not doing one of the basic things a representative should.

Even if it only swing a percent or two, that is all it takes.
