I recently moved back to the area and I'm looking...

so I haven't really found anything solid in my area of southwest IL. I am sure there are groups I just can't seem to swim through the sea of red surrounding me to find any of them. The few I have spoken to while out and about tell me they vote Dem locally and Repub nationally. And I was told by another that any Democratic group around here is populated by Joe Manchin types.

I'd like to just start out online, which is why I joined up here on DU. And later on as I get more solid footing maybe I can find some like minded folk locally.

Down around StL somewhere?

I'm from way up in the northeast part, about 55 miles south of Chicago and a pinch west.

I'm about 45 minutes across the river from STL. in Monroe County.
