Context for GA06 (it's been red since 1979!)

Context for the Georgia 6th. Trump makes it competitive

2016: R +23%
2014: R +32%
2012: R +29%
2010: No challenger
2008: R +37%
2006: R +45%

2017: R +3.7%. A typically safe Republican seat became highly competitive because of Trump. That's the takeaway here.

All those races from 2006 - 2016 were with the same Republican incumbent who was obviously popular in that district.

For the presidential election, it was just about an even split between Trump and Clinton.
