Roughly 11,000 votes in GA-06 made the difference.

The total turnout in that election was only about 40% of registered voters. Those numbers are interesting, as always. I know there was a GOTV effort on the part of Democrats there, but perhaps not a good enough one. 11,000 votes.

In every election, it is only the voter turnout percentage and the vote margin that are important, really. 40% turnout and an 11,000 vote margin.

I don't know the turnout percentage by party in that election. But, I do know that there were well over enough Democratic voters who didn't go to the polls to have turned that election around. Why did they not go to the polls. That is the real question that Democrats in that district need to answer. If they can find the answer to that question, they can find a way to improve the turnout.

11,000. That is the only number that matters.

You should also consider the tens of millions of dollars spent... and the approval number for Trump.

If turnout can't be improved with that much money when he's that unpopular, then don't assume that turnout is going to improve later.

The fact is, Osoff did well compared to the partisan divide of the district. But it IS a fairly heavily GOP district after all. There will be lots of folks who will vote for the R no matter what, and despite what they feel about Trump. That's just the way it is.

I did not like their responses and you won't either. But check out my message about how the Orlando Castillo verdict played with just my family.

I just won't even repeat it here. I have been clicking stations off overtime that video is shown. It is truly sickening.

6. Well, turnout there was only 40%

This could have been turned around. 60% of registered voters didn't show up and vote. There's the real problem, I think. And that's despite a long early-voting period. 60%. That's shocking!

8. you realize the former president weighed in on the suppression efforts in the state

Responding to an ad being run in Georgia by pro-Trump group Great America Alliance, which “fraudulently” uses Obama’s voice from the audio version of his book “Dreams From My Father,” a spokesman for the 44th president said the radio spot “is a shameful, indefensible tactic that should never be heard on the public airwaves.”

The response from Obama’s spokesman comes a day after it was reported that the former president’s voice was being used out of context to keep Democrats from voting.
