So Arizona is getting hotter than hell

I have no sympathy for Arizona which votes mostly Republican
enjoy your climate denying heat
didn't our scientist tell you that weather would become more intense (so the heat is more intense along with tornadoes etc)

Ignorance is so blissful.

Lived in the Southwest for fifteen years,we have had a two degree increase in temps during the Summer months since 2000.

I'd agree with your post. However, we're one big interconnected world, and Arizona's attempts to air-condition the outdoors (misters? In a desert?) ultimately affect all of us.

people are going to have to give up trying to air condition the desert and move on.

I wouldn't buy real estate there.

(I know- not everyone on DU is into painting an entire state of 5-6 million people with the same brush).

And - by the way most of us Arizonians moved here purposefully from other states and think we live in a climatological and disaster-free paradise compared to most of the United States. Anyone who doesn't think so just moves on, leaving the rest of us with happy grins, especially those of us who don't have to go out to work any more.

until we lost the seat Giffords had AZ had 6 Dem 5 Rep Congresspeople, now it's 5 /6.

State offices/legislature are heavily Republican because Dems have poor off year voting.

NC, Virginia, Florida and Arizona all have the same demographic - older native residents heavily Republican. Newer and younger residents are heavily Democratic
