Spite Is What Is Currently Driving The GOP

Since we are 0 - 4 in special elections in the era of Trump, there's people pointing fingers and playing the blame game. While the deplorables are gloating and drinking from their "liberal tears" coffee mugs (which are probably made in China). And you know why that is? Democrats get attacked for simply existing! Because that's how the GOP operates. It's like the Delta House vs. Dean Wormer in Animal House - they're going to attack us no matter what we do. So we might as well just do it. And if we have fun at their expense along the way, so be it.

Seriously, no matter what side we take the republicans will take the opposite. If we advocated against kicking puppies, the GOP would literally start kicking puppies. If we advocated for breathing air, they would pollute it. If we advocated for clean drinking water, they'd pee in the reservoir. We're for the environment, they're against it. We're for government programs and services, they are against those. We're for a better healthcare system, they're against it.

They are liars, bullies, and sociopaths. We need to start calling them out as such. Unfortunately, they own the narrative right now. Remember just a month ago when Greg Gianforte beat the shit out of a reporter and got reelected? The republicans were actively encouraging more violence against reporters! Now that that shooting happened in Arlington with the baseball practice? Guess what? They're suddenly against violence! It's like they live in opposite land!

Donald Trump Jr. posted a tweet that connected the Arlington shooting to the Central Park production of Shakesphere's Julius Caesar, and not only are those dipshits bragging about how they got it "shut down", they are actually sending death threats to multiple theaters across the country. So much for that "freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech!" they constantly claim that they own the rights to.

But they get away with this bullshit because they own the narrative. Greg Gianforte literally beat the shit out of a reporter and he got elected. Why? Because the republicans own Fox News. They own 1600 radio stations across the country. They own the newspapers and are taking over the internet. Nearly every book on every bookshelf has some sort of conservative bent to it. And yet they paint anyone who doesn't follow their agenda as part of the "liberal media".

We need to start expanding our media presence and get our message out there. The republicans own the media and they control the narrative. I'm not as optimistic about 2018 as some people are right now. The Tea Party takeover was successful because the GOP had complete control of network news, AM radio, and the clergy. They were able to get their message out there. What have we got? Stephen Colbert? Bill Maher? Rachel Maddow? I love and watch all of those programs. But they're not enough. If we want to take back the vote, we have got to take back the media. If we take back the media we might start waking some of those up who've fallen under the cult of Trump.
