Democrats should be proud to have someone like her as the Democratic leader in the house.
Nancy Pelosi can get things passed, unlike Boehner or Ryan.
Democrats should be proud of her. They should never imply that they "haven't given an ounce of thought" to whether they would vote for her for Speaker.
They should respond with "Why wouldn't I"? Then they should talk about the wonderful things that she accomplished, and certainly compare her to the very weak Speakers, Boehner and Ryan. Watching Ryan bow to Trump is disgusting.
Nobody has ever "carried water" for Boehner or Ryan.
Me.

(28 posts)I think she's doing a terrific job. Masterful, even. And this from somebody who spent the last eight years in the Green Party (but voting Democrat, so don't hold it against me!)
I think she's got a very tough row to hoe, and she's playing the game as well as the best of them. Given that Republicans HATE women, and especially women in power, she's playing the game twice as well as any of the Republicans. She's doing it backward and in heels, while dodging poisonous missiles.
She has my full support.

If Hillary and Pelosi have been vilified to the point of being a perceived liability, fight the vilification, not them.

(13,424 posts)The voters of the GA-6 district in suburban Atlanta have needs and issues that are more common with the voters of Pelosi's San Francisco district (CA-12) than they do with the voters in rural districts like KS-1 where the largest city has about 50K people. Yet GA-6 votes like KS-1 instead of CA-12. Politics is far too illogical.

I love the way people say "oh my God Reps keep attacking, we should pick somebody else"
when new doorbell rings, you go hide under the couch like the cat?
Think about it. Turning the other cheek, just gets another punch

My brother lives there. He loves Nancy, and would not trade her for anyone. She wins her district by large margins, too.
I live in a rural red district in Illinois. Under the right circumstances, I can get 45% of my precinct to vote Democratic. Things could change here!

(24,412 posts)And when was Nancy Pelosi responsible for running (winning) nationwide campaigns for the Party?

(212 posts)She knows her job. She knows every way to work through the house to get things done. AND... do you remember right before the crash W wanted to take ALL the social security money and invest it in the stock market. Then came the crash. She was the only thing to stand between him and losing every penny every senior citizen in the whole country was counting on to live. That woman saved us. Her picture should be on the ten dollar or twenty dollar bill. She quietly every day works to protect us and make our lives just a little better. She is a special lady and a great American.

Really heartbreaking to hear her demonized by her own people. She is right on ALL of the issues, and she isn't afraid to speak up. After all, she represents San Francisco, and she is EXPECTED to hold the line.

(32,083 posts)And, it's everything you just listed. Those are all the more reasons to stand with her. Every time we run away from one of their boogyemen, THEY win. You wanna throw Nancy Pelosi under the bus? Fine. But, don't be surprised when EVERY DAMN PERSON who comes after her is also demonized. Because that is what they do. They smear Democrats. You going to throw her successors under the bus when that happens, too?
