http://washingtonjournal.com/2017/06/19/mitch-mcconnell-just-refused-protect-healthcare-veterans/"Senator Tammy Duckworth suggested unanimous consent that the legislation not be permitted to kick veterans off Medicaid. Republicans objected to the measure.
Duckworths motion was a simple move that would have helped protect our servicemen and women, but Republicans rejected it out of hand. Duckworth is herself a veteran, and lost both her legs serving in Iraq. She received the Purple Heart, Air Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. Nobody understands the needs of veterans better than she.
Republicans love to trumpet support for veterans during election season, but the moment theyre in power they cease to care. Their cowardice is a disgrace to their constituents and a disservice to our military."

(6,974 posts)But there are Dems I've seen all around the internet (and on this site) today who'd rather remove Nancy Pelosi, because she's identified by thuglicans as a crazy lefty, whose then linked with the Dem of the party running vs a thuglican. I've even seen some Dems saying she's the reason Ossoff lost to a R in a deeply R district, drawn UP +9 for THUGLICANS so that they can WIN said district
Meanwhile, a horses asshole like McConnell is BARELY gone after by Dems. I've seen Dems saying he's wrong to craft Health legislation in the dark, or no more than a Dem saying that "He's not a nice person."

(58,785 posts)for whom this kind of thing is a surprise read up on the ideology of the archconservative extremists pulling the strings of today's Republican Party. They intend, if they can, to destroy Medicaid, Medicare, VA, Social Security, and everything else that requires taxation to pay for, as well as all regulations on their activities. They do want us to keep paying the lion's share of the military and police protection they feel they need. Most infrastructure spending would be
cut back privatized, with us paying for or doing without, again, most of it. Needless to say, they don't use the same roads each of us does.
Start with Koch. They're the biggest single name by far, but make no mistake -- there are far too many others, active in all states, for most to memorize the names of. Google the main names with those of cabinet appointees and Republican leaders.
