I am just about through with the non stop never ending requests for money for all things democratic. The lasted one just put me over the top.
On the day of the election, I get a request to chip in $5.00 for Jon Ossof:
"But the right-wing Super PACs are trying to destroy my reputation. Georgians are starting to believe their lies. So Im asking for your help one more time.
Can I count on you in these final hours?"
Can I be the only one who is sick of what has become the norm - expecting to "chip in" on every cause, for every candidate.
When will it stop.
Thanks, now I feel better.......

True Dough
(17,305 posts)$50 million spent on the Georgia election campaign. Think how much good that money could have done if applied to areas of pressing need.
Such a waste.

(29,204 posts)If we can get 30 million voting Democrats to "chip in" $25 a month for the next 15 months...
30 x 25 x 15 = 11,250 M dollars or 11.25 Billion
Used exclusively for the House races in 2018, each candidate would receive $25M dollars.
No "big name" donors... all grass roots. $25M is about what the Ossof race cost.
We use it for door knockers and meetings with the candidates... not for that many TV ads (targeted TV ads).
BTW that leaves around $374 M left over for party building activities by the DNC.
Less than a dollar a day.
Instead of getting hundreds of "Republicans WIN!!!" emails.
Edit to add... why spend $25M on a "lost cause" in some deep red district... simple, force the Republican in that district to devote resources they don't have to defend those seats. Show the country that we are not conceding a single seat or single vote.

(53,032 posts)No way that money is used for the election. It's used to pay debt.
