The thing that makes us so unevolved and failed as humans is that over $60million was spent on one single election and we are all ok with that.

Those were all warnings of this disaster, but no one had the guts to argue with that crap if it meant leaving the cool kids table.
The whole history (my lifetime, anyway) of American political discourse has been people who didn't want to get labeled the wrong way and would make absolutely any compromise to avoid it.

Always having to disclaim everything and everyone before daring to say anything at all (if there was anything left to say after the disclaimers).
We have one-dollar-one-vote government because too many of us were afraid to oppose it when we still had a chance to win.

(5,608 posts)and oversimplification. Any conclusions about money spent must be based on the reasons for the expenditures. In this case, the $60 billion was not simply "spent on one single election".
Costs of World War 2, estimated:
1. U.S : $296 billion (roughly 4104 billion dollars today)
2. Germany : $272 billion
I guess we could say that $568 billion spent on "only one single war" shows how unevolved we are as humans.

(5,608 posts)I didn't make my point well. If part of that $60 billion came out of my pocket, I would not be willing because of that to accept that I have failed as a human being. I took it too personally, and did not read the intent of the OP correctly.
