can they re-introduce it and when? Regardless of whether it happens before or after July 4th, is there a time limit?

(52,331 posts)There are only a few things that technically matter relating to the *final version* of the bill. If it's a revenue-raising bill, it has to be passed by the house first, and then the senate must pass it before the end of that legislative session.
The upcoming senate vote is on something that isn't exactly what the house passed, and frankly the house won't pass exactly what the senate passes this go-round, so it doesn't much matter, technically.
What does matter is that if there's enough support in the senate, and house-senate conference committee will hammer out differences and propose a final version. The votes on *that* bill is what really matters.
