Philando Castile girlfriend opens our eyes all the way in final moment

Because Diamond Reynolds represented, in 9 minutes and 46 seconds streaming live on Facebook, the widowed, the broken, the ones destroyed by the actions of a few police officers who have left unjust death in their wake. We have not been listening to them. She made us watch.

Because Diamond Reynolds appears to have no plans to be quiet, to wait, to hear excuses for a police officer firing four bullets into her boyfriend as he reached for his wallet during what the office claims was a routine traffic stop.

“I need justice. I need peace. I want justice,” she told reporters and supporters outside the governor’s mansion Thursday, the day after the fatal shooting, the second killing of a black man in a two day day span. “And even after justice, this will never go away.”

Diamond Reynolds didn’t let go. Even as an armed officer stood pointing a gun at a dying man, not aiding, not treating as human, she with poise and an eerie calm, made sure the world could not look away, could not escape this shooting, this death, this instance of police brutality.

Diamond Reynolds did three jobs – remain calm for her daughter, work hard not to disrespect an officer so he would not shoot her and ensure that the world knew what happened. It  is the kind of multitasking that wives and moms have done for years.

It was all caught on tape for the world to see. Live steam on FB and still the 'peace officer' walked away with no charges, a free man leaving a beloved teacher dead and a four year old devastated.
