(14,918 posts)"A think tank funded by Donald Trumps Secretary of Education pick recently advocated for putting kids back in the workforce.
The Acton Institute, a conservative nonprofit that is said to have received thousands of dollars in donations from Betsy DeVos and her family, posted an essay to its blog this month that called child labor a gift our kids can handle.
Let us not just teach our children to play hard and study well, shuffling them through a long line of hobbies and electives and educational activities, said the posts author, Joseph Sunde. A long days work and a load of sweat have plenty to teach as well.
.......
DeVos was a member of Actons Board of Directors for 10 years and while its unclear how much influence she currently has on the organization, its homepage now prominently features a message congratulating DeVos on her nomination."........(more)

(9,895 posts)We currently do not have a president, we have a Russian appointee to suck Putin's nuts.
We HAD a president in Barrack Obama.
We WILL HAVE a president in Joseph Kennedy III.
We currently are without a president...

(10,011 posts)Not only is Trump uneducated, he has also surrounded himself with similarly uneducated people who seem not to know that dictionaries exist and were created to prevent such egregious errors. This is not the first time the Trump administration has released public documents with misspellings and poor grammar. Are they too ignorant to know how to spell or just too lazy to verify the accuracy of their language? Ok, yes, they're just too lazy.

(82,849 posts)Until they lose a finger or two in the machinery*, children's nimble little hands are perfect for making little adjustments. Get them started on a lifetime of mindless drudgery, long hours, and low pay as early as possible! Creativity, innovation, and a rewarding life are reserved for the deserving few who were wise enough to be born wealthy. Right Donald? Betsy?
*At that time, of course, they automatically become moochers and are of no further use to society.
Say AMEN!
