Turns out story was false... He didnt receive aid from govt. funded program but from FDRs Charitable Program
dealing with Polio.
The fact is that thank God for McConnells recovery.. but he should also be aware that he was lucky....that there was a charitable organization in place for his illness.. Youd think hed have some FUCKING Empathy. Scumbag he is!

(34,661 posts)That was 1952,closest Hospital was 15 miles away. He was transfer to the Sister Kenny Facility in St Paul Minnesota. Seems to me,he was their some 6 or 8 months. He was one of the Lucky Ones. No paralysis and as a Farm Kid,his Physical Labor help regain his Muscle Mass.
