I'm seeing a lot of discussion on DU that suggests Dems be more like the mortal enemy we have to

combat every day....republican extremist hate speech. I do not think it is in the DNA of a true democrat to lie, slander, obfuscate and cheat, steal, bully and hate with the aplomb and natural vileness of the typical right winger.

Dems have typically been people of faith who believe in truth and evidence, science and education, reason and merit. None of these qualities are a mark of a republican, not anymore. To fight as the republicans do would be antithetical and soul destroying.

We don't have Hannitys and Limbaughs because we care about our country and the people in it as a whole. That cannot be said for these hate mongers. Yes it sometimes seems we are taking the proverbial knife to a gun fight, but that knife, often a pen, has destroyed more tyrants than all the bullets ever can.

The republicans are about to meet their Waterloo due to their pandering to Russian influence, money and election fraud. The left wing pens are what is taking the republicans to the political graveyard, that junk heap of partisan self indulgence and a vainglorious sense of privilege. They are doomed, the hoofbeats are in their ears, they hear it and that is why they are responding with boastful declarations and baffoonish threats.

The ostrich may hide its head in the ground, that doesn't mean its head is safe.
