From article: RALEIGH, N.C. A North Carolina state senator posted a series of tweets Wednesday referring to various news outlets as "jihad media" in response to stories with which he disagrees.
Sen. Dan Bishop, R-Mecklenburg, is in his first Senate term after serving one term in the state House. He's best known for his support for House Bill 2, the now-repealed law that brought the state international attention by restricting transgender access to public bathrooms and excluding the LGBT community from discrimination protections.
Bishop's relationship with the media has been contentious at times, but this appears to be the first time he has likened reporters to terrorists.

And then he doubles down with MORE inflammatory statements. Gerrymandering allows an incredible level of incompetence to exist in my state. This guy seems very surprised that his radical views run counter to the mainstream in the city he 'represents'. Now that he has figured it out, he is sooooo butthurt all the time. Life in the GOP bubble, wow....

(11,243 posts)That also sounds dumb. He should have call them the 'jihadist media' to be grammatically correct. Jihadist can be either a noun or an adjective. Crusading media has about the same meaning as jihadist media without most of the emotional and political baggage. You and I know crusaders were Christian religious fanatics, but most people probably don't get that connotation.
So yeah, 'crusading media' would have been better, IMO. Bishop is still a whiny little snowflake, but at least he is not dog whistling bigotry at his base with that word.
