An older person still too young for Medicare could go from paying 10% of his/her income for insurance premiums under ACA to paying at least 40% of their income for insurance premiums under BCRA
How much more will you pay if you don't have large employer insurance plan and are too young for Medicare? Find out here...

(15,805 posts)Can they pay their monthly healthcare premiums and deductibles and buy their medicines with the promise of tax credit at some later date? And how is anyone going to afford spending 40% of their income to pay for healthcare premiums and still pay for their basic living needs?
Republicans don't want their draconian version of healthcare to work anymore than they did the ACA. This is their idea of culling the herd!

Tax Breaks==Another cruel Joke, what are we suppose to give up,Bread,Milk,Food just so we can pay for some Insurance plan that costs 2k a month and hope to hell your Tax Refund covers it,I guess ignorant folks might think this would work, but, get real, not going to happen.

(9,247 posts)I've also read a while back that Republicans believe the sick, elderly & poor are a drain on society and just need to die. I've read it in comments on various articles too. They think people can just die like they used to before the Great Depression and before there were any social services at all. Back then, people just suffered and died if they weren't wealthy enough to afford a doctor.
Republicans truly are a vile, wicked bunch.

(8,419 posts)Doing some quick math, it is mind boggling.
My rates would increase about $3,500 per year.
I would have lower taxes on income over 200k per year.
Break even on the 3.5k increase would be an income of 588k per year.
LET THAT FUCKING SINK IN!!!!!!
Break even on a 3.5k increase in premiums would require an income of 588k per year.
After that there is a $900 tax savings for ever 100k income over 588k per year
688k income - $900 benefit
788k income - $1,800 benefit
888k income - $2,700 benefit
988k income - $3,600 benefit
So let's say a person is a major league asshole and wants to throw millions off of HC, kill off pre-existing conditions, (at a risk to that major league asshole and/or family) and strip the requirement for essential benefits. I would think afore-mentioned asshole would at least need 10k in savings or an income of roughly 1.7 million to achieve those benefits.
