It's NOT the time to start watching them NOW, especially with this story out there.

No retraction. No apologies to Hillary Clinton or any other Clinton aide they slandered unjustifiably.
One story - on its SITE, ffs - that's TRUE about Trump:Trump gets butthurt and ally comes out shouting. and CNN retracts story and APOLOGIZES.
Once again, people, our 'watchdog' media is a sad little lapdog for the GOP. Time to recognize CNN for the CONNING 'News' Network it's become and not believe a single piece of shit 'news' they propagate.
CNN = Fox "News" Channel lite.

(5,270 posts)In a staff meeting Monday afternoon, investigative unit members were told that the retraction did not mean the facts of the story were necessarily wrong, Stelter reported. Rather, it meant that the story wasnt solid enough to publish as-is, one of the people briefed on the investigation said.
No one should publish any content involving Russia without coming to me and Jason first, CNNMoney executive editor Rich Barbieri said in an email to staff over the weekend, referring to Jason Farkas, a CNN vice president. BuzzFeed was first to report on the email, which said the changes will apply to social, video, editorial, and MoneyStream. No exceptions.
So far, CNN hasnt offered any details why the report was pulled, other than it reportedly did not go through the networks rigorous editorial processes. Franks story reported that the Senate Intelligence Committee was investigating a $10 billion Russian investment fund whose chief executive met with a member of President Donald Trumps transition team four days before Trumps inauguration.
The story was posted on Thursday night, but didnt receive any air time on CNN, according to Stelter. By Friday, the story was removed from the website and scrubbed from the networks social media accounts, replaced with an editors note noting the piece did not meet CNNs editorial standards and has been retracted.
CNN also apologized to Anthony Scaramucci, an adviser to Trump during the presidential campaign and a member of his transition teams executive committee, who was mentioned in the story as having met Kirill Dmitriev, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) that the network said is overseen by Vnesheconombank, a state-run bank that is currently under U.S. sanctions. A spokesperson for the RDIF told Sputnik News, a state-run Russian news channel, that the fund is not a part of the bank."
So apparently the story was pulled because it was based on just one source, had not gone through editorial channels but it appears probably much of the story is correct, although technical detail may have been off regarding the Russian Fund's ownership?

Regardless of whatever evidentiary, or ethically challenged support, big money torted a news co out of existence.
Now, I believe this is a major repercussion of Mister Teal being in the Trump administration
