Republicans and the White House are now lying about the "healthcare" bill and it's cuts to Medicaid. To me, that shows that they don't fear any consequences. Just my opinion.

Once most of us start acknowledging reality, I think there are simple steps progressives can take to move forward without republicans.

(26,626 posts)if they ever existed. There's always been fuckery, but what happened last year was beyond anything we've seen, and nothing will be done to stop it because they ended up in power.. they didn't win, but there they are, and with comrade gorsuck on the SC, well, you know.

(26,626 posts)but we could sure use a rock star right about now to get people who don't vote and don't engage to rise up and do both. The only reason the system could be so rigged was because nearly 50% of eligibles didn't bother to vote. Voter suppression takes it's toll for sure, but it's not the whole picture.

(52,257 posts)I wasn't sure it was going to pass until I heard about the phase-in. That's how they're trying to escape political consequences.
In 2018, they'll cite current statistics to show that few people have lost coverage and ignore the fact that millions will in the following few years....
